Perplexity Pro Replacing Google for Research

Is it just me or is Perplexity AI’s Pro version, specifically its ability to synthesize information from 10+ sources and generate cited responses, completely replacing Google for serious technical research and documentation reviews?

It’s incredibly impressive, but Perplexity still struggles with deeply nested technical diagrams like those in the STM32 reference manual – I found myself needing to manually sketch out the timing diagrams after its initial response.

Seriously, Perplexity’s multi-source synthesis is incredible—I’ve found it’s a fantastic alternative to Google Scholar for quickly digesting 15-20 technical papers, but for really deep dives, try Zotero’s citation management alongside it.

That's a fascinating shift, but does Perplexity Pro’s ability to pull in exactly 5 sources per response consistently meet the depth of analysis I’ve seen from a dedicated tool like Scite for verifying academic claims?
